September is here, which means that fall is on its way–my favorite. I’ve been thinking a lot about a lot of things but before I write about them, I’m just going to have to contemplate on them a little bit before I really write anything. Topics that are brewing: putting down roots, caring what other people think of you, life’s not fair, etc. Big stuff needs lots of space for thinking. In the mean time, let’s just do a basic check in shall we?
What are you eating? Mostly just a lot of salad and cheese, lately.
What are you reading? The Uncoupling by Meg Wolitzer (not loving it—it’s fine but I probably won’t finish it. I’ll google the ending, though), Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling (our book club pick for September!), and The Atomic Weight of Love by Elizabeth J. Church. I picked up this book because I was intrigued by the cover. I didn’t have much time in the library so I just impulsively checked it out and decided that if I don’t like it, I can return it unread. No harm no foul! But after reading the back and a few random pages (to get a feel for the author’s style), I think I’m going to spend most of my Labor Day Weekend with this book.
What are you doing? Doing a lot of doodling and hand lettering. I’m not good yet but I know I’ll get there. I’m working hard at being okay at being a beginner. This is brand new territory for me. I have a tendency to quit things as soon as I realize I’m not perfect at it. And to help me along, I joined a Doodle-a-day challenge for the month of September if you want to join in!
What are you listening to? The Lively Show podcast is really speaking to the core of me lately. Learning about going with the flow. Putting aside my ego and learning to listen for my intuition. If these things excite you, give it a listen! I’m also hooked on Honey—where each episode, the host interviews a different couple and has them rehash some of their worst arguments. It is incredible.
What are you watching? I started re-watching Happy Endings! I just don’t understand why Casey Wilson isn’t on every single television show right now. She’s my most favorite. I’ll watch anything featuring either Casey Wilson or Melanie Lynskey. Enter Togetherness. Have you seen Togetherness??
What do you want? A hot dirty chai latte with lavender syrup. So if anyone is out and about, today. Please stop by.
What do you need? A new pair of jeans before it gets too cold. I’m just looking for some dark-washed, high-rise, plus size jeggings that won’t wear out in the thigh area after a few weeks and that are made to accommodate my rear. I know, there aren’t a lot of tiny-hiney-ed plus-size girls out there. But we do exist and we’re tired of diaper-butt. I’m thinking of trying these, these, or these… Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter?
What about you? What are you reading or eating or listening to or watching? Do you need/ want anything? I want to know what’s going on out there in your world.
XOXO, Lib
This weekend is Labour Day, sweets. 😉
As much as I know that, intellectually, for some reason my mouth and brain refuse to say it. 😛 Thanks for the heads up.
Sometimes I have to stop and think of what season/month/day it is, so you’re keeping on my toes. 😀
A hot dirty chai with lavender syrup sounds divine…

Happy Endings is the ultimate. Why do all the best things get cancelled?!
