Page 86: Checking in for April

You’ve probably heard this 6,000 times already but can you believe it’s already April? Spring has sprung. The flowerbed and my front yard are here to prove it.

Are you using Ibotta? And if not, why the heck not? You buy groceries, right? This app will literally pay you to buy groceries and other things. Ryan and I started using it at the beginning of the year and have decided to save up all the money that we’re racking up in there to use when we go on vacation to Mississippi and New Orleans next month. So far, you guys, we’re up to over $70! Which is going to be so gosh darn helpful on a road trip, right? That is going to cover a few tanks of gasoline! Or, like, at least half the snack budget.
If you want to try it out, use this link. You’ll get $10 and I’ll get $5! It pays out by way of gift cards or PayPal.

Anyway, to the Monthly Check In:

What was the last restaurant where you ate?
According to my bank statement–we ate at Oliver’s in Hutchinson. It moved from a tiny place downtown to a larger place out on 30th street. This was a part of a day date for Ryan and I. After lunch, we went to see Zootopia. Ryan basically dragged me there but I really loved it a lot. Have you seen it? It has, like, a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes.

What was the last thing you binge watched? Documentary Now! Have you seen this? It’s on Netflix right now but you can get it through Amazon, too. Ryan and I watched almost every episode in one night. The last two episodes about the Blue Jean Committee had me laughing until I cried–over and over again.  Fred Armisen and Bill Heder are actual geniuses. I’m not saying that as hyperbole. I believe it’s really true.

What’s your drink of choice? Lately if I’m at the coffee shop, it’s ordinarily to camp out and get some work done. So for me, it’s regular drip coffee with cream because free refills. My other usual is a tall glass of water. I have made a personal rule for myself–I’m not allowed to drink my coffee until I’ve had a large glass of water. Gotta get that hydration going early!

What are you reading? I’m reading Her Fearful Symmetry for our brand new book club! Have you heard about it yet? Here’s a link to that post. Everyone–regardless of where you live, is welcome to join! I’m reading it really quickly–about half way through right now. I’m so curious to see where it’s going!
But I’m going to need something to read when that one is over. Something that I can finish in about a week or so. Any suggestions?

What are you listening to? Laura Gibson. I just discovered her, today. I’m streaming her latest album “Empire Builder” on iTunes right now. It’s really nice. A few more listens and it’ll be one of those albums that I will be able to sing along to perfectly in my car. It’s important for me to have sing-along-in-the-car albums.
Also Thao and the Get Down Stay Down is great for infusing a little more energy without getting too poppy. I’m loving this album, “A Man Alive”. I’m going to listen to this for the rest of the day, I know it. I’ll probably even *gasp* buy it!

What is your resolution for tomorrow? To get a cool hair cut. And to find my social security card.

What are you looking forward to? I’m starting a new part-time job, tomorrow! I’ll tell you about it later, probably.

How are you doing, today? I’m doing so much better now that Spring is here. The days are getting longer and warmer. We’ve slept with the windows open a few times, even! I bought new pillows. I don’t know if I’ve ever done that in my whole adult life, before (which is gross but if that’s true for you, too, obviously I don’t blame you at all) but it has revived me!

How about you all? How are you doing? What’s new? Is there anything that you love right now that you want to tell the world about?

XOXO, Lib
