For the rich, there’s therapy. For the rest of us, there’s chocolate.

A few weeks ago, I was asked to write a quick review about the experience that I had with my therapist. I was very quick to say “of course!” but I was not very quick to get it written.

How do you say, quickly and eloquently, “therapy gave me a life I never believed was in the cards for me”? I mean, I guess I could have easily just said that. But I didn’t think about it.

10 Plus-Size Bras that Prove Feelin’ Sexy is for Everyone

Recently Buzzfeed posted a series of articles all about how bralettes are the wave of the future. I also am on Team Bralette and so I loved these posts. Summer-time Libby loves bralettes. There’s nothing worse than waking up on a 90 degree day and having to strap yourself into a constrictive, polyester garment full of wires and boning and extra foam padding. Especially when you realize that one of the main reasons that you’re doing it is simply because society has conditioned us to believe that a woman should only be taken seriously if her boobs are high and tight. I know, right now you’re thinking “that’s not true.” Yeah it is. Think about it for about thirty more seconds.
But back to the beauty of bralettes! They’re so delicate and light and some are lacy and some are sheer and some are extra strappy and some have cut outs and some are so cute that you want to show it off by barely wearing a top at all. Just throw on a vest, go to work, and avoid HR.

Road Trip Snacks and Other Important Topics

Next week, my husband and I are driving from the middle of Kansas to Jackson, Mississippi to watch my brother graduate from Seminary. I’m so proud of the hard work that he and his wife and their kids have done, the sacrifices that they’ve all made and the faith that they’ve been living in for the past four years.
After that, we’re driving over to New Orleans to celebrate our first anniversary. We didn’t go on a real honeymoon but when we fantasized about where we would go for our hypothetical honeymoon, my mind kept getting pulled in that direction. I wanted to go to New Orleans because it’s unlike anywhere else either of us have ever been. But to get there—there’s a lot of driving. I’m really excited to share pictures with you.

So what’s the first thing that you think of regarding road trips? For me it’s “what are we going to listen to?” and “what will our snacks be?”

April Book Club Select Review + May’s Pick!

As you may recall, for the month of April, our Virtual Book Club chose to read Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger and here’s my review! Leave your review or a link to your review in the comments and we’ll see what you thought of it, too!

book club

What drew me to pick up this book in the first place? Probably ignorance? I recognized the author as the author of The Time Traveler’s Wife and while I never actually read that book… or even saw the movie… I saw previews of the film and so, obviously, I knew all about what this book would be about. Right? Hopefully you’re seeing how very wrong this theory was. It’s like playing a game of telephone and then paying $15 (yeah, I paid full price for this book!) and committing several hours of your life based on the outcome.
I picked it up at a time when I was looking for something easy to quickly draw me in. Maybe a little romantic? I thought I’d found it! And then I suggested it for the book club and we were all in agreement and lo and behold! We were all reading it and we had to finish it. Hahaha! Does that give away how I felt about this book?

I really wanted my first book review to be “OMGILOVEDTHIS! EVERYONE READ IT! EMOJISEMOJISEMOJIS!” But this one is a little more complicated. Please keep reading.

Let’s Browse the Internet Together

Here is a list of things that have greatly appealed to me, lately.

Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted this last weekend and I couldn’t let it go.

This book “Fat Girl” by Judith Moore—too real. Scary real. In fact, it’s so about me that I don’t want you to read it.

This salad. OH! or this salad.

Chrissy Teigen is probably my most favorite celebrity and also moms can’t seem to win no matter what they do.

This t-shirt of truth.

This article about a man who gave up alcohol and coffee. Spoiler alert: he saved $1000 a month and now “poops like a king”.

The 2 Dope Queens podcast.

She’s going to be on our money! But in other Harriette Tubman related news, enter Janelle Monae.

Have you seen anything enticing on the internet? Any must-share salads?
