Page 85: Feminist Friday Feat. Mitchell

This is part of a long series of posts, which will be known as Feminist Fridays. Because individuality is at the heart of feminism, I’m going to open up this space to different people each week to share with us a little portion of their unique journey.

That’s right, that’s right, today’s the day that we let a man take the mic! So, I interviewed my friend Mitchell to get his thoughts on Feminism and mansplaining and privilege and all kinds of other things!
Now, one thing that I want you to know is that Mitchell is the funniest thing on my whole internet, if I’m being completely honest. I don’t bring that up because otherwise you won’t know—you’ll know, okay? I’m saying it to let you know why I chose this interviewee. Because in order to have brilliant comedic insight, one must be really smart and one must also posses real self-awareness.
And finally I want to say that even though I don’t open up this space to all that many men, Mitchell doesn’t speak for all men at all. In fact, he doesn’t even represent most men that I even know. But he represents the type of man that I am happy to have on my team. And that is why I asked him to speak to us, today.

Page 84: Gushing on Books and Special Announcements!

I talked to you about how in all of 2015, I finished reading exactly one book, right? In fact, I put on my 2016 Bucket List “finish reading one book”. And I’m happy to report that even though it’s only the end of March, I’ve already met that goal. Twice over, actually!
Please stick around till the end of this post for a very exciting announcement!

Page 83: Elevator Recipe for Meatless Monday

I was a vegetarian once and I liked it a lot. It was at that point in my life when I was the kind of person who gave stuff up for Lent and I had decided to give up meat–it lasted way after the Lenten season had passed. I was working at a deli at the time and when you’re surrounded by that much lunch meat, not eating it came to me very easily. But time wore on and who the heck knows how meat got back into my diet but it did. And that’s fine—I sort of wish I was a person with really strong convictions about food and what we should all be eating but I’m not really. Which I hope all of my friends and family appreciate.

Page 82: How To Clean Your French Press

My friends. I tell you, I thought I was the only one with this problem because I’ve never heard anyone else complaining about it.

One quick Google search proves that not only does everyone else have this problem, but so many of you guys have just accepted that this pain in the hiney is just a part of life. But I have found a hack! I found a life hack that has made cleaning my French press so gosh darn easy.

Page 81: Feminist Friday Feat. Laura

This is part of a long series of posts which will be known as Feminist Fridays. Because individuality is at the heart of feminism, I’m going to open up this space to different people each week to share with us a little portion of their unique journey.

Laura is another one of my friends that I’ve only known online. She’s also BFF with Jessica–who we met last week. Laura is a passionate, insightful, smart woman who I turn to any time that I need to be pumped up or educated. There is so much that I would love to tell you about Laura but we’ll just have to interview her again and again and again.

Laura was born and raised in Ohio, fell in love with a sailor, has nearly 3 children and currently lives in Washington, home of all things mossy and enchanted. She loves knitting, rolling her eyes at the patriarchy and talking about placentas.  IMG_0049 Continue reading “Page 81: Feminist Friday Feat. Laura”
